Bottling Day
Under a brilliant blue California sky, the unmistakable hum of precision machinery signaled one of the most anticipated milestones of the vintage: bottling day for Dome Vineyards and Thomas Fogarty’s crush pad. Rolling directly onto the grounds, the specialized mobile bottling rig transformed the quiet mountain property into an energetic, synchronized workshop. Stainless steel lines channeled our Cabernet Sauvignon from resting tanks straight into the heart of the trailer, where rows of dark glass were purged, gravity-filled and corked in a fluid, continuous motion. Inside the compact, gleaming interior, every station ran under watchful eyes and exacting standards, ensuring that the structured depth and expressive fruit nurtured through months of careful barrel aging were captured at the absolute peak of freshness.
Outside the open trailer doors, the energy was infectious as a long roller conveyor bridged industrial precision with hands-on teamwork. Fresh off the line, the bottles emerged crowned in their crisp white labels—proudly bearing the iconic observatory dome and individually hand-marked numbers celebrating this limited run. Hands moved in steady rhythm to inspect each vessel, pack the pristine white cases, and slide them down the rollers toward the forklift and waiting pallets below. There is a rare, grounding satisfaction in watching years of patient viticulture, weather, and cellar craft finally sealed under cork. As these cases settle in for their well-earned cellar rest, we couldn't be prouder of how this Cabernet has come together, and we cannot wait to finally pull the corks and share it with you.
